The transformation of the Subic Navy base into a free economic zone with a concentration of recreational activities, night life and a wide variety of accommodations has placed a new tourist destination on the map next to Olongapo . The recent improvements in the Northern Expressway and the new Subic - Tarlac Expressway are bringing both areas closer together. It's just about 1 hour drive from Clark airport by taxi and 3 hours from Philippine capital Manila NCR. Domestic tourist from Manila, are seeing the area as an alternative to many other tourist destinations. The International tourist is what is really leading the way to the growth of Subic Bay. The number of visitors from other Asian countries is growing so fast that it is hard to keep pace.
